WESTERLY NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Due to recent funding cuts Westerly is facing one of the most serious threats to its existence in its sixty years of publication. We are turning to turn to our community to help us through this difficult period. The recent appointment of our new editor, Catherine Noske, marks another era in the publication's long history, and promises to be something of a renaissance, but we need your help to realise our vision for the magazine's future.
In partnership with Windsor Cinema we will be screening the 2015 adaptation of Hardy’s classic, Far From the Madding Crowd. Critically acclaimed, this beautiful film has received five-star reviews from Grazia and The Times, and an 85% approval on Rotten Tomatoes.
The screening will be accompanied by an evening of fun with door prizes, a raffle and nibbles all on offer. Prizes include a selection of books, including some lovely Hardy texts, DVDs, Westerly subscriptions and more! There might even be a nice drop o’ ciderrr on offer…
Please join us for what will be a highly enjoyable night, and help support the ongoing publication of Western Australian writing. If anything, we at Westerly think this is a good excuse to get together and catch up – the fact that all proceeds will go towards ensuring the magazine not only weathers these hard times, but manages to emerge renewed, will make it all the more satisfying.
