POEMS IN FLIGHT -

burke: POEMS IN FLIGHT #
pulling up poems
out of the atmosphere

choosing three
to send away

like homing pigeons
yet hoping (like Noah?)

they find land
and don't return

Genesis 6 - 13 : Noah first sent out a raven which did not come back, then a dove which came back with olive leaf then after seven days another dove which did not come back. I like exactness when writing on the scriptures.

Your poem is excellent and simple. I really relate to it as a mother - we see our children grow to maturity to leave and go out into a wider world.
