Cultural Centre. Free, but please consider making a small
donation to cover the room hire and to support Perth Poetry Club and WAPI.

Our guests
Rachael Petridis is a Western
Australian poet, published nationally in literary journals and anthologies. In
2004 she was selected for the New Poets program at Wollongong NSW. In 2009 she
won a place at the Varuna Longlines Australian Poetry Workshop in Katoomba NSW.
Her first collection “Sundecked” was published by the Australian Poetry Centre
in 2010 and received a “Commended” in the Anne Elder Award.
Christine Della Vedova is
a teacher, a student of life and a self-confessed word nerd. She has written
singles ads for the lonely and horny. She has taught English to kids in Korea
and Peru, and tai chi to seniors. She once built a 6 metre Chinese Dragon.
Recently the Business and Professional Women's Association named her their
Young West Australian Woman of the Year. Now she teaches refugee and migrant
children and says she cannot think of a more fulfilling career.
Perth Poetry Club is Perth's first weekly poetry and
spoken word event. Saturdays 2-4pm at The Moon Cafe, 323 William Street,
Northbridge. Supported entirely by donations, organised by unpaid volunteers,
since March 2009. Featured guests, open mike (up to 3 minutes: that's about
60 lines), professional sound. Everyone is welcome.
