Kenny Garrett with a nod to his mentors ...

On this edition of Jazztrack, Kenny Garrett looks back on some of his musical mentors with the album 'Seeds From The Underground'. 
Also on the show, Melbourne pianist Tim Stevens, and his new solo piano recording of improvisations, The Vampires, and their third release just out and you'll also hear recent exclusive Jazztrack recordings of the Doig Collective from Sydney and the Josh Roseman Unit live at the 2011 Wangaratta Jazz Festival in a piece inspired by Jamaican trombone legend Don Drummond.

Kenny Garrett is a Grammy Award-winning American post bop jazz saxophonist and flautist who gained fame in his youth as a member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra and of Miles Davis's band. He has since pursued a critically acclaimed solo career. Most recently he joined a supergroup of jazz musicians, the Five Peace Band.
