CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS for ISSUE #7: The sssssssssSOUND ISSUE

Summer 2013
Submission deadline: January 10, 2013

Stretch your vocal chords during the festive season and don't forget to press record. The seventh issue of RABBIT will include a snazzy CD of spoken word. Experiments welcome; musical accompaniment welcome. However you groove, we'd like to hear you voice your non-fiction poems.

Send between 3 and 5 poems in audio (.mp3, .mp4, .wav) AND document formats (.pdf, .doc, .docx) to: rabbitpoetry@hotmail.com

RABBIT is a journal for non-fiction poetry, so if you are concerned that your take on the 'real world' is slightly abstract, don't worry - include a line or two to tell us why you categorise your poem as 'non-fiction.' We are very much open to poetry experiments!

Please include with your submission: full contact details, 50-word bio, and a short response to the following question: What is your favourite sound?

NOT SOLD ON THE CONCEPT OF NON-FICTION POETRY?...
RABBIT editor Jessica Wilkinson and poet/critic Ali Alizadeh have recently co-written The Realpoetik Manifesto, published in the Victorian Writer magazine. Have a read and see if this convinces you to join us on our quest to celebrate poetry as a medium capable of extending non-fiction writing into new, playful, rhythmic and performative dimensions!
